The Institute’s main entrance is at the front of the building, accessed by steps or disabled access ramp. It leads to the foyer through an automatic door which can be switched on by request for disabled access.

From the foyer, two sets of double doors lead into the main hall, and there are also doors to the kitchen, Community Library, toilets, and caretaker’s cupboard. There are plenty of coat hooks on the walls either side of the kitchen door.

Although the foyer’s size makes it more suitable as a reception area, it has been used for small-scale coffee mornings and could make a fine location for a bar. It usually contains a rack of information leaflets and a trolley of second hand books for sale by the Community Library, but these can be moved into the Library should you wish to use the space.

There are toilets for ladies and gents and a toilet for the disabled containing baby changing facilities. These are checked every day and also before and after functions.

The caretaker’s cupboard containing cleaning materials is situated to the left of the entrance.
