The Institute is available and ideal for a range of events, public and private, large or small-scale. You can book the whole Institute – the main hall, supper room and kitchen – or just part of it, depending on the scale of your event. Our aim is to provide the facilities you need to hold a great one-off event or to host a regular group.
We host many parties and functions including birthday celebrations for children and adults, ceilidhs, discos and dances, afternoon teas, beer festivals and much more. Many local clubs, societies and groups use the Institute for a variety of events ranging from carpet bowls to the Women’s Institute, and we are an excellent venue for meetings or conferences, both small and large, with a loop-hearing system installed and disabled access facilities. Finally, we have been the venue for many happy family celebrations on the occasion of events such as weddings and baptisms.
Whatever you would like to use the Institute for, our aim is to be as flexible as possible so that you can have a successful event. You may choose to cater for yourself using the kitchen (available for use at no extra charge) or bring in outside catering. We are happy to allow licenced bars during your booking, either run by yourself or external provider, subject to you obtaining the necessary alcohol license and paying an additional bar fee to the Institute. You are welcome to add a personal touch to your event by decorating the rooms in your own style.
If you feel the Institute might be the right place for it, we would love to host your event. You can make a booking online, but would strongly advise you to contact us to discuss your event if you have particular requirements.
