The Kitchen

The well-equipped kitchen has a six-ring gas cooker with electric oven, triple-bowl sink, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a coffee maker, electric kettle and an automatic water boiler.

Provides access to: outside (rear of the Institute), main hall (via serving hatch), supper room, foyer

Beakers, cups and saucers, plates and cutlery are all to hand in the large storage cupboards. There are also trays for heating items in the oven.

Tablecloths and tea towels may be used and these items will be cleaned by the caretaker.

As well as stainless steel worktops around the room, the kitchen also has a central island worktop and a large trolley for transporting items to and from different rooms. There is a serving hatch leading into the hall.

There is a waste bin for use in the kitchen that should be emptied into the skip at the rear of the Institute after use.

The kitchen and its equipment are available for use at no extra charge when booking the hall. Instruction booklets for all equipment are provided.

A first aid box is located in the kitchen and any incidents requiring its use should be reported.in the Accident Book that is located on the noticeboard in the foyer.

Regular health and safety checks are carried out. A folder in the kitchen contains the records.
